The TS-253D features dual 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN ports that can transfer up to 295 MB/s over a single connection or 588 MB/s when both ports are in use.
Network Storage
You can install up to two 3.5″ or 2.5″ SATA III 6 Gb/s drives into the TS-253D, set to RAID 0, 1, JBOD, or Single configuration. Backup your data, share media across your network, and archive your file library. Your data is secured by an AES-NI encryption engine that is designed to maintain performance while keeping your data safe. Installing an optional solid-state acceleration cache helps to maximize performance for data-intensive applications.
Power and Performance
Featuring a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core processor with up to 2.7 GHz burst speeds and 4GB of DDR4 memory, the TS-253D can load a variety of QNAP QTS applications while managing up to 800 concurrent connections.
Windows and Mac Backup
Use the license-free QNAP NetBak Replicator utility to back up and restore files from Windows computers. Apple’s Time Machine is supported for backing up Mac computers.
Snapshots for Volume & LUN
Snapshots are essential for NAS data protection, and a block-level feature makes it a dependable data protection method in the face of growing ransomware threats. The TS-253D supports up to 256 snapshots per volume/LUN, and up to 1024 snapshots per NAS.

The support of high-quality 4K video transcoding enables the NAS to convert videos to universal file formats that can be smoothly played on multiple devices. The TS-253D also can stream videos through DLNA, Chromecast, and more to satisfy versatile multimedia application needs. The QNAP RM-IR004 remote control (sold separately) can be configured using QButton to customize individual button actions, providing a more user-friendly NAS experience.
Note: The TS-253D’s hardware provides hardware decoding, encoding, and transcoding capabilities. However, playback quality may vary due to factors including playback software, file formats, system usage, and available bandwidth.

By installing Plex Media Server from App Center, setting up the Plex Media Server on your NAS is only a few minutes away. You can stream media files stored on the TS-253D to mobile devices and media streaming devices, including DLNA, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Google Chromecast.

VJBOD Cloud supports streamlined NAS backup to object cloud storage. The block-based data transmission uploads random data and large files to the cloud in blocks, and only transmits block-based volume or LUN changes, such as addition, modification, or deletion.
